We work every day to provide exceptional experiences everywhere and bring STEAM learning to everyone! You don’t have to be an expert to be a volunteer — we’ll provide all the training and tools. From greeting our guests to assisting our educators, there’s nothing quite like volunteering at COSI.

Youth Volunteer Applications

We are excited to announce that the application for Youth Operations Volunteers will be going live on August 1st.
Youth ages 13 and up are encouraged to apply.

Selection Timeline:
Application Opens: August 1
Application Closes: August 15
Applications are Reviewed: August 16 – August 30
Select Candidates Invited to Interview: August 31
Interview Dates: September 15, 16, or 17^*
Candidates Notified of Application Status: September 30

^*Candidates will be scheduled for an interview on one of the three dates listed. Interviews will be from 5:30pm-7:30pm and take place at COSI.

Training Timeline:
All accepted volunteers are required to attend three separate training sessions that take place on Saturdays or Sundays. Trainings will be offered from 9:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 5:00pm on the dates listed below.

Training Session One: October 24 or October 25
Training Session Two: November 21 or November 22
Training Session Three: December 12 or 13

Looking for a fun and meaningful way to give back? These single-day volunteer opportunities are the perfect way for teams or organizations to make a difference! All available opportunities are listed below. No background check or application required.

Farm Days Assistant

Days needed: Wednesday August 12, Thursday August 13, Friday August 14th, Saturday August 15th, Sunday August 16th

Volunteers will assist with various agricultural themed activities under the direction of a COSI Team Member.
Must be able to work outside and carry 25 pounds.
AM Shift 9:30am – 1:00pm
PM Shift 12:30am – 4:00pm
Suitable for individuals or groups of up to five people per shift.
